PCAF benefits span technical (educational resources, databases, and assistance) and global (collaboration, recognition).
PCAF connects your institution to a global network that is working together to advance GHG accounting. Through working groups, events, and partnerships, members help shape standards, share best practices, and foster interoperability with other frameworks. At the regional level, implementation teams provide hands-on collaboration with peers in your country or region. These teams support peer learning, joint initiatives, and practical solutions for data challenges and strategies. By joining PCAF, your institution becomes part of a global and regional community committed to transparency, innovation, and collective climate action.
PCAF offers you the chance to be part of specific working groups that develop updates to the Standard and work with peers on supplementary, technical guidance. Regular working groups and events provide opportunities to exchange insights and shape the future of sustainable finance. PCAF’s standardized framework is essential for institutions managing diverse portfolios, as it ensures that emissions data is both reliable and actionable.
PCAF offers tailored technical support to help signatories implement emissions measurement and reporting effectively through hands-on-assistance and e-learning modules on the PCAF Standard.
The PCAF Academy offers a self-paced e-learning platform designed to deepen signatories’ understanding of GHG accounting standards and best practices. Through interactive modules, case studies, and assessments, participants can build internal capacity and ensure their teams are equipped to implement the PCAF Standard effectively. We update the Academy on an ongoing basis to keep up with updates to the PCAF Standard and industry trends.
Whether institutions are just beginning their GHG accounting journey or refining advanced methodologies, PCAF provides guidance through webinars, one-on-one consultations, office hours, and documentation reviews. This hands-on assistance ensures that signatories can overcome challenges and apply the PCAF Standard accurately.
The PCAF web-based emission factor database (“PCAF Database”) is one of the key resources available to PCAF signatories, helping to assist in calculating and disclosing emissions associated with financial activities. The PCAF Database provides PCAF signatories and accredited partners with physical- and economic-activity-based emission factors that are in alignment with the methodologies of the PCAF Standards. The PCAF Database is maintained by the PCAF Secretariat and is governed by PCAF’s Climate Data Working Group, consisting of PCAF signatories who are responsible for the strategic direction of the Database. The PCAF Database is updated twice a year.
For more information on the PCAF Database, please consult the PCAF Database Information Sheet.
PCAF offers you the opportunity to join regional and national implementation teams to actively stimulate knowledge sharing and peer-to-peer learning. Meetings, workshops, webinars, and other events are organized on a regular basis.
As a global initiative, being a PCAF signatory helps communicate your goals and solutions. Your organization is listed on the PCAF website and is granted the rights to use the PCAF logotype (note: the logotype is copyrighted and you will need to receive it from us to utilize).
